We joined the Ochoa Román family for a true day of thanksgiving . . .
who, because of God's faithfulness and the generosity of friends near and far . . .
was able to buy land and build a new home. (They and other members of the Christian base community lost their homes due to gang violence and embezzlement.)
Ricardo and family, including Angel (left) . . .
adopted member of the family.
Additional land has been purchased to provide homes for other members of the Christian base community in San José Villanueva.
In El Salvador, everywhere you turn there are flowers, dotting the countryside with beauty.
Thankgiving service
Scripture read by daughter.
Communion (sweet buns) served by grandparents.
Followed by lunch (soup).
In a country that has no public holiday called Thanksgiving, we witnessed the most heartfelt day of gratitude that many of us have ever experienced.
